I Am the Light

I once walked in a tunnel so deep, so dark

I was deaf, blind and dumb to any form of a light spark

Shadows covered me with desolation

Anxiety and fear caused intense desperation

Love became brittle and broken

Tears flowed unchecked, I felt forsaken

As I lay down with the weight of loss and desolation

I turned inward, and found illumination

There is in me a light so bright

I need not look outward for any might

I stand straight today with the strength of love and faith

Because I am the light that illuminates the shadows and wraiths
